Given the sheer size of 22 Bishopsgate, getting a street-level hero image was always going to be a challenge. 3D modelling was used to choose the camera position and frame the shot. The result is a striking view of 22 Bishopsgate as if you were approaching from Liverpool Street.
With the exact camera location on Bishopsgate already decided, Martin shot the late afternoon backplate photo looking south. Multiple exposures were used to help to remove some of the rush hour traffic and allow some calm space in the foreground, providing a cleaner look. With the backplate completed the 3D model was rendered and composited into the image.
